“No it’s fine”Robbie ran his hand down his face “I had this thing, sort of a thing I’m still not sure what it was, with this girl, she, well she left after she found me half unconscious and bleeding out ,with a bottle of some cheap alcohol i don’t remember the brand, went to hospital, powers went off without warning and it hit her, she wasn’t hurt, but after that she left” he laughs “that’s the last anything I had”
Teddy listened, not really knowing what to say. In the end, he reached out a hand and patted Robbie’s forearm firmly, the only comfort he really knew how to offer someone that wasn’t close enough for a hug.
“I’m sorry. That’s got to suck.”
“Nah I’ts fine, I’m fine, everything is fine now” Robbie lied, it wasn’t that things weren’t getting better they were definitely getting better, but that didn’t mean everything was good yet, yes capturing Nitro helped a lot, but it didn’t heal every wound “I’m a massive buzz kill aren’t I”
“Nah, sometimes it’s good to, y’know, get a load off your shoulders.” Teddy shrugged, kicking a few cans across the floor. “We’re given these massive responsibilities as heroes and we get no thanks, just blame for when things go wrong. And we’re just human- well, most of us anyway.” He gave Robbie a wry smile and shrugged again.

Robbie laughs “You’re putting way too much thought into a game, i don’t think i wanted to put mine in there but it would have been nice to know i had all the places, completing every aspect of the game is a thing i do, or did i dunno” he didn’t know what to say after that, he had reached the end of what he remembered about the game but he didn’t want to stop talking
“Well, i had a nostalgia pang.” Teddy said wistfully, dropping the controller back onto the couch between them. “I remembered when we’d finish our training and head back to base, and Billy’d have brought the Wii and we’d compete in the racing and stuff. Tommy used to get so mad when we’d beat him.” He laughed softly, his smile small.
